IEEE Online Communities
The IEEE On-line Communities, (CommunityZero hosted by the Ramius Corporation) will be upgrading on July 23rd 2010. The new IEEE On-Line Communities tool is called Sixent and is the next generation of professional on-line communities from Ramius. Sixent will enable IEEE communities to move to a more professional and enterprise focused community solution especially customized for IEEE.
All users who have logged into CommunityZero between July 1st 2009 and June 14th 2010 will automatically be given access to Sixent. All other users will either need to rejoin or be invited to the new community. We are targeting August 3rd 2010 for activation of your new solution but this is dependent upon your Community Owner approval and scheduling.
The original CommunityZero site will be fully functional during the month of August. However, beginning in September throughout October the CommunityZero site will be view only. At this time, all new activity is expected to be in Sixent. The final cut over from CommunityZero to Sixent will be approved by the Community Owner.
IEEE staff is working with the Community owners to complete this upgrade. Most content will be automatically moved to Sixent and the remaining content will be manually copied over. Shortly, you will be provided a new URL and some additional information about the new Sixent Community. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments about the upgrade, CommunityZero or Sixent please email IEEE staff at firstname.lastname@example.org.
